Justin Combs, son of rap mogul Sean ‘Diddy’ Combs won a full football scholarship from UCLA worth about $54,000.   It seems folks think this young man should return the scholarship since his dad is worth millions and can afford the college tuition.   No one seems to consider the fact that Justin actually earned the scholarship.  He deserves to keep it.

UCLA released a statement Wednesday explaining that athletic scholarships are not based on finances and do not rely on taxpayers’ money.

“Unlike need-based scholarships, athletic scholarships are awarded to students strictly on the basis of their athletic and academic ability — not their financial need.”  “Athletic scholarships, such as those awarded to football or basketball players, do not rely on state funds. Instead, these scholarships are entirely funded through UCLA Athletics ticket sales, corporate partnerships, media contracts and private donations from supporters.

Justin Combs summed it up via twitter tweeted the following:

Regardless what the circumstances are, I put that work in!!!! PERIOD.
