Detroit pastor Marvin Winans was carjacked and assaulted Wednesday outside a Detroit west-side gas station.

Winans, who delivered the eulogy at Whitney Houston’s funeral, said he was buying gas at a Citgo station on Linwood near Davison when he was assaulted.   He said he noticed 10 young men in the gas station.   “There was at least four of them who followed me out,” said Winans.

The attackers ripped off his pants and stole his purple SUV.   He said he didn’t know if the men knew who he is, but if they did “it didn’t matter.”

Police said there was no gun used in the assault.

There is no surveillance tape of the incident.

Police are looking for help in locating Winans’ stolen burgundy Infiniti QX56 SUV. Anyone with information should call Detroit police.
